STABLING AND GRASS: There will be a limited number of stables to accommodate ponies/horses for camp week and similarly there will be a limited amount of grazing available.
Stables: €30 per pony for the week. Please note that members must provide their own bedding, mucking out equipment, hay, water bucket and feed etc. Stables must be left meticulously clean once vacated at the end of the week!
Grass: €20 per pony for the week. Please note that any pony kept on grass must have their hind shoes removed.
It is very important that ponies/horses kept on site are up to date with their worming programme.
Priority will be given to families with 3/4 members and those with transport challenges, ie., those with a double box and three ponies etc. Stables will be issued first and then the option of grazing.
Please contact CHPC Secretary Bernadette Cummins by text (087 752 9532) by the 30th of May if you fall into the above category. Everybody who applies will be put on a list which will be prioritised as above. We will then contact you and will do our best to accommodate everybody.

FAMILY TENT: This year we hope to provide a Family tent as well as the Instructors tent. Families can then bring their tables and chairs at the start of the week and leave in the tent for the week. (Please label first!) We also hope to provide hot water for teas/coffees etc. We hope this will make the week a little easier for everyone with regard to packing the car in the mornings whilst at the same time providing a place for everyone to have lunch together. Please come in for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat once your child has gone out with their Instructor.
SECOND HAND SHOP: Have you outgrown any Carlow XC shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, jodhpurs, shirts, boots, ties etc. or have you any tack that you would like to sell? We will provide a space in the tent where you can display them. Attach a label with your name, number and price on each item so that people can contact you directly. Suggest that items be brought on Monday!
BAR-B-Q: Wednesday will be Bar-B-Q day, weather permitting, so no need to bring a packed Lunch on this day! This will be all hands on deck and all offers of help most welcome! Yvonne Flood has kindly offered to co-ordinate so please make your skills/offer of goods/food etc. known to Yvonne.
FIRST AID: There will be a first aid kit and a pony care kit in the tent for the duration of the week. Please contact Eamonn, Breda or Rosemary if anybody is in need of first aid during the week. We are very fortunate that we have many parents who are in the medical profession so there will always be someone available on site who is qualified to administer first aid.
IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT: There will not be a doctor on call, First Aid will be administered as appropriate and an Ambulance will be called if necessary.
Breda Skelton will be on site and can be contacted on 087 745 0744 for advice in any medical emergency.

VET ON CALL: Parents are advised to contact their own family vetinary practice.
FARRIER ON CALL: Farrier Jodi Skelton will be on call for the week.
SPORTSMANSHIP SHIELDS: A shield for 'Sportsmanship' will be awarded to one child in each ride. This award recognises the child who is a great sport, who shows great respect for their Instructor and indeed all officials as well as their peers. The child who tries their best across a range of disciplines regardless of the outcome, who is magnanimous in victory and gracious in defeat as well as showing camaraderie and support for fellow competitors. These shields were kindly sponsored by past members and friends of the Pony Club with the aim of seeing the Pony Club going from strength to strength by fostering the above qualities in today's members. It is a great honour for any child to be awarded this shield.
OUR LOVELY CHANGEABLE IRISH WEATHER: Needless to say we cannot influence this, however we can come prepared! Suncream, wet-gear (waterproof pull-ups and jacket), a towel and a change of clothes are all advisable.
Note: If you need to buy a waterproof jacket for your child, there is the option of buying a red CHPC jacket. (NOT compulsory) Speak to Bairbre Brown for advice.
