Tetrathlon Championships 2021
A super well done to all our members who competed in the National Tetrathlon Championships in Killossery and Ballinakill over the weekend 14th 15th Aug. We had a most enjoyable time from start to finish especially the finish!!!. All their hard work did not go unrewarded.
Kate Byrne revived the Senior Girls Tetrathlon for Carlow by playing a blinder in all disciplines. She ignited the spirit of the club early in the day on a really challenging xc course which had very few clear rounds.
Jamie Hargaden followed Kate’s enthusiasm in the Junior Boys Competition. His team came 3rd and he was Individually placed 3rd overall and also picked up placings of 1st in the Shoot, 5th in the swim and a superfast 3rd in the run. Barbara’s coaching has not gone unnoticed !!! Jamie also came 2nd in the individual in the North and his team won in July.
Our top Junior Girls team, The Carlow Hot Shots took home the gold for Carlow. Ruth Fogarty followed her recent win in the North with another by winning the Junior Girls Individual Competition. She also won the Shoot, 7th in the swim and 6th in the run. Sarah Kehoe was hot on her heels coming a fabulous 2nd individually, also 2nd in the north, joint 1st with Anna Murphy in the run and joint 3rd in the Shoot with Hannah Kelly. Anna was 5th individually overall.
The Carlow Rockets finished an incredible 7th. Sami Lil Salter achieving a super clear round. Annie Fogarty shooting like she never shot before, no need for glasses. Caoilfhionn Lawlor a reliable shooter placed 14th in the shoot following an individual 11th in the North last month and Caoimhe Foley adding another discipline by winning a Camogie County U16 Final over the weekend also.
The Carlow Comets stole the show, last out on xc after a long day and cleared everything in sight. Jodie Foley set the tone for her team with a strong clear round. Katie Foley still a Minimus contender and Sarah O’Neill on her 5 year old pony, remarkably cleared a testing Tetrathlon course. They were one of only two teams with all clears cross country.
Eileen Brennan, our number one supporter flew the Carlow flag high on the way home to celebrate our win. A huge thank you to all who made the weekend such a success.www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=121113780256211&id=100070727688469¬if_id=1629145447709520¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif
