Carlow Riders at Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show 2015
On Friday & Saturday Ciara Kelly and Niamh Byrne performed in Combined Training Class at the RDS. On Sunday Megan Telford Kelly came 8th in Equitation Class. Congratulations to all 3 girls in getting to perform at the Horse show 2015!!
Silver Spurs 2015 held at Spruce Lodge, in Co. Wicklow
This is a scheme, sponsored by Horse Sport Ireland and organised by Dressage Ireland, which aims to identify and develop talented young riders from IPC and other areas. it is run to encourage riders progress by awarding training bursaries, by giving direction and advice and providing a pathway to help them to develop their training and riding skills in their chosen equestrian discipline. Megan Telford Kelly participated in Silver Spurs 2015 and after making it through Semi Finals in July and took her place in the final on 23rd July 2015 – Finishing 9th. Congratulations and well done Megan.

AREA 1 COMBINED TRAINING AND DRESSAGE QUALIFIER 2015
Carlow Pony Club had another great day at the Area 1 Dressage and Combined Training Qualifier on July 16th at Marlton Stud, Wicklow. 13 riders from the club competed in Pure Dressage and Combined Training classes.
The Pure Dressage team finished in 1st place, with Ellen Jordan winning the class individually and Ciara Kelly, Megan T Kelly and Romy Bolger finishing in 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
Megan won the Junior Combined Training with Alannah Walsh coming in 4th and David Browne in 6th. Niamh Byrne was the winner of the Intermediate Combined Training for the 2nd year in a row, qualifying once again for the Dublin Horse Show. Taylor Deane was 6th in the same class. Ciara won the Open/SA Combined Training, also qualifying for the RDS.
In the Under 12s Combined Training Julie Hatton was 2nd with Sophie Walsh in a close 3rd place. Well done also to Holly Bolger, Eimear Jackman and Ella Murphy.

National Dressage Day 2015
We are delighted to report that 11 competitors from Carlow Pony Club participated in the Irish Pony Club National Dressage Day at Spruce Lodge in Wicklow on Saturday June 27th. A huge well done to everyone involved. Among the prizewinners were Ciara Kelly, Ellen Jordan, Taylor Deane and Sophie Walsh. Ciara was the winner of the Open/SA class, and was also 4th in the Elementary class. Ellen finished second in the Elementary class, while Taylor was 5th in the Intermediate competition and Sophie placed 6th in the Under 12 class.
