National eventing championships 2016
The Connolly's Red Mills, Irish Pony Club Eventing Championships took place on Sat. 20th and Sun. 21st August 2016, at Kilguilkey House, Cecilstown, Mallow, Co. Cork
Dressage and Show Jumping took place on the Saturday with Cross Country on the Sunday.
Carlow Hunt Pony Club had 5 members compete, 3 at Junior and 2 at Intermediate level. The junior team was made up of Julie Hatton, Jack Carr and Mary Hickey while Jane Hosey and Nira O'Gorman competed in the Intermediate competition.
Even though the weather conditions were less than perfect and with a very challenging, but fair, cross country course it was a successful weekend for Carlow with 3 members placed individually.
Jack Carr was awarded 2nd place in the Junior competition and posted the second fastest time for the cross country.
Jane Hosey and Nira O' Gorman were both awarded 3rd place in the Intermediate competition
Congratulations also goes to Eimear Jackman who finished joint 5th overall in the Open League. This is a great achievement as it's Eimear's first year to compete at Open level
A very big well done to everyone who took part.
