punchestown festival october '18
The games season came to an exciting finish in October over the course of two days in Punchestown. The weather wasn't in our favour as it rained non stop on Saturday but that didn't stop the teams from bravely stepping up and competing 4 times each over the weekend. The junior team of Cara, Jessica, Miriam, Polly and Alice finished in a very tightly contested second place in the B final while the 'Bibs' U10 team of Jodie, Katie, Jasmine and Orla also came in a very exciting 2nd place in their B final. The A U10 team of Lily, Lucy, Pippa and Conor made it through to the A final and finished in 6th place. A great result all round for the three teams who have worked and competed very hard all season.

PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS SEPTEMBER 2018
BEACH RIDE, 8TH September, 2018
The day finally arrived after much planning and organising for our Beach Ride in aid of Crumlin Children's Hospital and our club. Long before dawn on the Saturday morning the rain began to torrent down, but thankfully it began to clear just as people began arriving at 9.30.
We had nearly 80 riders on the beach. The day started with groups walking, trotting, cantering and even galloping down the length of the beach. Two groups at a time competed in “Irelands Fittest Pony Clubber”, an obstacle course for both pony and rider that proved to be great fun. We then had a quick stop for a picnic lunch followed by “Ride through ice cream” for riders, siblings and adults. This was followed by more games and riding in the sea. Ponies were then boxed up and the craic continued with a treasure hunt for the youngest members. Many of the members took to the sea in a variety of costumes from full riding gear to shorts, followed by tug of war and the customary water fight. Pictures attached tell the tale.
Laurel and Hardy Auctioneers Ltd hosted a raffle and auction followed by a sumptuous BBQ and bouncing castle. After a long day everyone headed home, tired but happy after having had a great day.
The committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make the day possible and for all the volunteers who helped throughout the day. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, people who gave donations, parents and children for making the day so wonderful. See link below for a selection of photographs.
